The Wonder-King (Japanese: ワンダー王 Wandā-ō) is a character in Kamiwaza Wanda, the monarch of the Wonder-Star and Wanda's father.

Appearance[]

The Wonder-King is a blue-eyed, black dog-like citizen from the Wonder-Star. He wears a crown and a black cape.

Personality[]

The Wonder-King is the Wonder-Star's monarch. He has a strong dislike on Don Bugdez.

Kamiwaza Wanda[]

The Wonder-King made his debut in episode 1 when he puts the Wonder-Star in ice and sends his son Wanda to Earth after confessing with his arch-nemesis Don Bugdez.

The Wonder-King appeared in Wanda's flashback in episode 21.

The Wonder-King also appeared in Nice and Amazing's flashback in episode 43.

The Wonder-King appeared in Wanda's mind in episode 46.

In episode 47, The Wonder-King was thawed out from the ice when Wonder-Promin unfroze and purifies the Wonder-Star. He reunited with his son Wanda afterwards.

In the manga[]

Kamiwaza Wanda (original manga series)[]

The Wonder-King made his debut in chapter 01 when he decided to freeze the Wonder-Star, trapping the Bugmins in the ice, and told Wanda to go to the planet Earth.

The Wonder-King was seen in the flashbacks in chapter 02 and chapter 07.

After the Wonder-Star was thawed and purified by Wonder-Promin in chapter 13, The Wonder-King congratulated Yuto, thanking him for getting rid of Don Bugdez.

In the games[]

Kamiwaza Wanda: Kirakira Ichibangai Kikiippatsu[]

The Wonder-King made his video-game debut as an NPC in the 3DS game Kamiwaza Wanda: Kirakira Ichibangai Kikiippatsu. He was only seen at the start of the game when he meets up with his arch nemesis Don Bugdez.

  • The Wonder-King is the only known Wonder-Star citizen who stays in the Wonder-Star.
  • Unlike the 4 Kamiwaza Teammates Wanda, Nice, Amazing and Mighty, the Wonder-King does not visit Earth, comparing to the 'Sailor Moon' human characters King Endymion and Queen Serenity.
  • The Wonder-King's voice actor, Ryuichi Kosugi, is also a comedian known for perforiming tsukkomi in the comedy duo Black Mayonnaise.
    • During in broadcast of TBS' variety show 'Ningen Observation Variety Monitoring' on April 7, 2016, 16 days before the original Kamiwaza Wanda anime season's premiere, Ryuichi Kosugi paticipated in a voice actor audition, along with 2 more comedians Daisuke Muramoto of the comedy duo Woman Rush and Yoshio Kojima, on some prank-targeting video with the voice actors already involved in the Kamiwaza Wanda anime series (Kappei Yamaguchi, Hiro Shimono, Suzuko Mimori and Arthur Lounsbery) as the instigators. Original season director Mitsuo Hashimoto, who's also an instigators during that variety show on that day, has chosen Ryuichi Kosugi as the voice of the Wonder-King in the Kamiwaza Wanda anime series, making the Wonder-King the first anime character Ryuichi Kosugi has ever voiced in anime history.
