Wanda (Japanese: ワンダ) is a main character in Kamiwaza Wanda, a Kamiwaza Teammate and a titular mascot character of the Kamiwaza Wanda franchise. He is a mysterious dog-like Wonder-Star citizen who encounters Yuto in the anime's very first episode. He is mistaken as Wannosuke's replacement by Yuto's family of four. He is sometimes known as Prince Wanda (Japanese: ワンダ王子 Wanda Ōji) due to being the Wonder-Star's prince.

Wanda is a white dog-like Kamiwaza Teammate with orange features, black ears, black fingers, white and orange fingers with black toes, a grey face, green eyes, a green nose and an orangy-red alarm on the tip-end of his white tail. Wanda also has a green 'W'-shape on his chest. He is often based on a Pug.

Personality[]

Wanda is a cheerful Kamiwaza Teammate belonging to Yuto. Wanda always sniffs for any nearby Bugmins. When a Bugmin is near, the alarm on the tip of Wanda tail will go off. He always uses his Kamiwaza Searcher to search and reveal Bugmins. Wanda also likes eating chicken karage bites which happen to be his favorite food. Yui, Yuto's sister, has a crush on Wanda.

Despite of his motif, Wanda hates being just called a dog.

In the first episode of the original Kamiwaza Wanda anime season, Wanda was using the Kamiwaza Power-Shot when he captures and debugs the first Bugmin encountered on Earth: Bug-Turbomin.

Kamiwaza Wanda[]

Wanda appears in all episodes of the original Kamiwaza Wanda anime season.

Wanda was first seen at the beginning of episode 1 when he captured and debugged Bug-Dorirumin. His father, the Wonder-King, sent him to Earth whilst putting the Wonder-Star in ice. His Kamiwaza Pod then crashed-landed at a scrapyard full of scrap-cars. After capturing and debugging Bug-Turbomin, Wanda was taken to Yuto's house by Yuto and his younger sister Yui. Later, Wanda passes the Kamiwaza Power-Shot to Yuto after encountering Bug-Tonkamin.

After being taken on a railway roller-coaster once by Bug-Railmin in episode 3, Wanda first tried a chicken karage bite, by taking a bite on it, and enjoyed it. Wanda enjoys chicken karage bites as his favorite food, starting from that episode.

Wanda begins to have a crush with Yui in episode 4.

Yuto and Wanda went seperate ways by mistake in episode 5 when Wanda went around the town, looking for Bug-Chakkamin. Wanda reunited with Yuto later on.

In episode 9, Wanda was sent flying by a strange flying tempura. In the following episode, Yui went to search for Wanda with help from Yuto's father and two of Yuto's friends Mirai and Shuu as well as Railmin. Wanda later reunites with Yuto when he used his Kamiwaza Searcher on Bug-Jetmin.

Wanda had his face removed by Bug-Keshigomin in episode 11. Yuto, Yui, Mirai and Shuu each take turns to redraw Wanda's face and only Yuto, Mirai, and Shuu laugh at the following results:

  • Yui's own style: Like how Yui draws Wanda's face on her pictures of him.
  • Yuto's style: Almost like how Wanda's face looks before Bug-Keshigomin rubs it out.
  • Mirai's style: Made a reference to various Shoujo anime and manga franchises such as Sailor Moon.
  • Shuu's style (and later Wanda's own style): Made a reference to various Shounen anime and manga franchises such as Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

In episode 12, Wanda plays his role as the speeder as he ride's Yuto's skateboard boosted by Turbomin. That was until they ended up on a platform in the middle of a huge pit. Luckily, Yuto, his sister Yui and his 2 friends Mirai and Shuu rescue them with help from the other Promins.

In episode 13, every time he has a dream, Wanda wets the beddings. That is because Wanda's been dreaming of visiting the bathrooms which became a nightmare by Bug-Yumemin.

In episode 15, Wanda became mad every time he, Yuto, Mirai, Shuu, Yui, and their fathers arrive at destinations that aren't the beach. After arriving at a forest, Wanda found out that it was all Bug-Mapmin's doing.

Wanda becomes magnetic, thanks to Bug-Magnemin, in episode 17.

In episode 18, Wanda visits a bathroom for real. However, he notices that the bathroom in Souma's mansion is huge and he can't reach the golden loo-roll. Later, Wanda has to solve a case of the knocked out Promins. Bug-Stopmin is the answer to that mystery.

Wanda encounters his long lost friend Mighty at the end of episode 20. In the following episode, Wanda noticed that Mighty is a companion to him, especially due to a mistake and reacted to what Mighty says about the Wonder-Star's frozen state and the Fact-Promins.

In episode 25, after getting the idea whilst taking a bite on a strawberry daifuku, Wanda created some Wanda-daifuku with help from Ichiban-Hoshi Teru.

In episode 29, Wanda was kidnapped by the Bug Bytes who lock him in Lady Mariko's escape rocket. He managed to escape from the rocket, before it explodes, with help from Kagimin.

In episode 30, Wanda went off admiring Takezo Panda too much due to the Bugwaza ability of Bug-Motemin. He was then snapped out from that trance after Yuto gave him a box a chicken karage bites.

In episode 32, Wanda mistook Momotaro for a girl cat until Yuto captures and debugs Bug-Heartmin.

Wanda went on expedition duty, helping Yuto capture and debug four Bugmins in episode 36.

In episode 39, Wanda paticipated in the race with his car. However, he was eliminated from the race first after he crashed and fell out from his car along with Chakkamin.

In episode 40, Wanda had too much confidence, causing his nose to grow long thanks to Bug-Tengumin.

Wanda encounters an illusion of his Kamiwaza Power-Shooter companion's family's pet dog Wannosuke when a purple fog approaches Kirakira First Street in episode 41.

In episode 42, Wanda sadly watched as his long lost friend Mighty ran away after Masato failed his attempt to defeat Don Bugdez on his own.

In episode 43, Wanda was displeased when some of the Promins get kidnapped and rebugged during the strange closet incident. That was until his 2 friends Nice and Amazing arrive at Earth.

In episode 47, Wanda went on a space journey to unfreeze the Wonder-Star with 2 of his friends Nice and Amazing and the 3 Kamiwaza Power-Shooters Yuto, Mirai and Shuu. After his home planet the Wonder-Star was thawed and purified, Wanda left his home planet again and decided to stay with Yuto because of Yui.

In the manga[]

Kamiwaza Wanda (original manga series)[]

Wanda appears in all 13 chapters of the original Kamiwaza Wanda manga series.

Wanda made his debut in chapter 01 when he was sent to Earth by his father The Wonder-King. When he arrived at Earth in his Kamiwaza Pod, Wanda became a Kamiwaza teammate as he assists Yuto on his successful attempt to capture and debug Bug-Turbomin.

In the beginning of chapter 02, Wanda realised that the Kamiwaza Power-Shot he was holding couldn't work if it's used by anyone other than Yuto.

Wanda encounters his long lost friend and rival Mighty in chapter 06.

In chapter 11, Wanda reunites with Mighty, who apologised and is now Wanda's new friend, and joins forces with him after Yuto recovered all the rest of Masato's Promins using the Fusion Promin Ga-tomin.

In chapter 12, Wanda, along with Mighty, helped Yuto and Masato awaken the last 4 remaining Fact-Promins. He, Mighty and all the Promins Yuto and Masato both have so far later on helped Yuto and Masato summon Wonder-Promin.

After Don Bugdez was gone for good in chapter 13, Wanda traveled on Rocketmin, with Yuto and Mighty, to the Wonder-Star. In there, Wanda helped Yuto and Mighty summon Wonder-Promin in order to unfreeze the Wonder-Star. Afterwards, Wanda said goodbye to Yuto who going back home to Earth. Later, Wanda decided to return to Earth and stay with Yuto.

In the games[]

Kamiwaza Wanda: Kirakira Ichibangai Kikiippatsu[]

Wanda made his video-game debut as a supporting character to the player in the 3DS game Kamiwaza Wanda: Kirakira Ichibangai Kikiippatsu.

  • Wanda is most often based on dogs, like how 'Sailor Moon' character Luna is based on cats and 'Cardcaptor Sakura' character Kero is based on lions.
  • Wanda is the first Kamiwaza teammate in the Kamiwaza Wanda series to arrive on Earth.
  • Wanda's name is the word 'wonder' (short for 'wonderful') as spelt the Japanese way.
    • Until the Kamiwaza Wanda franchise was first introduced in 2016, Wanda's name was just an original girl's name.
