The Nintendo 3DS (Japanese: ニンテンドー3DS Nintendō Surī Dī Esu) is a handheld console and the first console to have a Kamiwaza Wanda video-game released for. It was first launched in Japan by Nintendo in February 26, 2011.

In late 2009, Nintendo began to plan and develop a successor to the Nintendo DS. On March 23, 2010, the successor to the Nintendo DS was officially announced under the name 'Nintendo 3DS' by Nintendo. The Nintendo 3DS was officially revealed at E3 2010 on June 15, 2010.
The Nintendo 3DS was first launched in Japan on February 26, 2011, Europe on March 25, 2011 and the USA on March 27, 2011. It was also first launched in Australia on March 31, 2011 and then South Korea on April 28, 2012.

There are 12 colours of the Nintendo 3DS in total with four in all countries, one in Japan and Europe, one on Japan and the USA, one only in the USA and five only in Japan.
Five more models were later introduced to the Nintendo 3DS family: the Nintendo 3DS XL, the Nintendo 2DS, the New Nintendo 3DS, the New Nintendo 3DS XL and the New Nintendo 2DS XL.
The most best-selling games for the 3DS are 'Mario Kart 7', 'Pokemon X' and 'Pokemon Y'.
On September 16, 2020, the 3DS family was discountinued worldwide after almost a decade.
On February 15, 2022, it is announced that the 3DS family's Nintendo eShop services will discontinue, along with the WiiU's Nintendo eShop services, near the end of March 2023. Nintendo eShop was then shut down for the 3DS on March 27, 2023.
On October 4, 2023, it was announced that Nintendo Network online services will discontinue for the 3DS. Nintendo Network was then shut down on April 8, 2024.
Kamiwaza Wanda[]
Since the Kamiwaza Wanda franchise was first launched by Takara Tomy, the Nintendo 3DS became the first console to have a Kamiwaza Wanda video-game released for.
The Kamiwaza Wanda franchise's RPG game, Kamiwaza Wanda: Kirakira Ichibangai Kikiippatsu, was released on the Nintendo 3DS on October 27, 2016. It is the only Kamiwaza Wanda video-game title to be released for this console.

- The Nintendo 3DS was one of the releases that weren't affected by the aftermath from the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.
- The Nintendo 3DS succeeded the Nintendo DS. It was then succeeded by the Nintendo Switch.
