MBS (Japanese: MBSテレビ Emubīesu Terebī), formerly known as Mainichi Broadcasting System Television (Japanese: 毎日放送テレビ Mainichi Hōsō Terebi) until July 23, 2011, is a Japanese channel known for broadcasting the Kamiwaza Wanda anime series on television in prefectures of the Kansai region, including the Osaka prefecture.
Broadcasting history[]
MBS was first founded in December 27, 1950. It was then first launched in March 1, 1959, which is nearly 9 years later after the foundation. It is one of the core station channels of the countrywide television company Japan News Network (Japanese: ジャパン・ニュース・ネットワーク Japan Nyūsu Nettowāku).
Like its Tokyo counterpart TBS, MBS had broadcasted many television programs throughout the years.
Starting in the early 1960's, MBS broadcasts the same anime shows TBS is broadcasting but in the prefectures of Japan's Kansai region.
Kamiwaza Wanda[]
On April 23, 2016, MBS began broadcasting the Kamiwaza Wanda anime series in the Kansai region, starting with the anime series' debut self-titled original season.
The original Kamiwaza Wanda anime season is the only season of the series to air on MBS. Since April 2017, the Kamiwaza Wanda anime series went on a hiatus until a new anime season is announced, possibly for TV Osaka.
