FuRyu (Japanese: フリュー) is a video-game and merchandising company involved in Kamiwaza Wanda. They are based in Tokyo, Japan.

History[]

In April 1997, electronics company Omron launched a new business in the industry of entertainment titled 'Columbus Project' at their New Business Development Center. Their first product is the portrait seal printing machine Ni-Terangelo. They continue expanding into the print seal field in the following years.

They entered the mobile contest business by starting the media service Poketsu in December 2001. In January 2002, a month later, they entered the arcade prizes industry. Four months later, they are officially established and were named Omron Entertainment Division. They were then split off in July 2007, with Omron holding 100% of the ownership.

In 2006, Omron Entertainment changed their name to FuRyu and also entered a mobile advertising business. In April 2007, which is the month FuRyu was officially founded, they implemented a management buyout and succeeded both all the businesses and all the employees to FuRyu themselves.

In November 2008, FuRyu have announced that they are entering the businesses of video-game development and publishing. In April, May and August 2009, they relesed their first three titles for the Nintendo DS. In April 2012, FuRyu acquired all the sharings of Weave, a company known for specializing in plannings of animation. They also entered the printed seal machine specialty store management business and they open a store in Niigata, Japan.

In 2013, following their involvement in the production of the animated movie 'Dogsha' which was released on June 1, 2013 in the cinemas, FuRyu entered a full-scale animation production business.

In 2015, FuRyu changed their company logo whilst introducing their slogan which says "Precious days, always". In December 2015, FuRyu is listed on the First Section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

In early 2016, FuRyu was chosen to develop some parts of the toyline for the Kamiwaza Wanda franchise including the plush dolls which FuRyu have developed with help from the toy company Takara Tomy.

Kamiwaza Wanda: Kirakira Ichibangai Kikiippatsu[]

In October 27, 2016, FuRyu released the first title for the Kamiwaza Wanda video-game series: Kamiwaza Wanda: Kirakira Ichibangai Kikiippatsu, a monster-collecting RPG game, for the Nintendo 3DS.

Trivia[]

  • FuRyu also worked on some video-game titles for various other franchises such as 'Jewelpet', Rilu-Rilu Fairilu', 'Pikachin-Kit' and 'Doraemon'.
  • FuRyu is responsible for Minna no Kuji which is a merchandising sweepstakes lottery that distributes lottery-prize merchandise based on the Kamiwaza Wanda franchise.
